Sidesync Connect to the Same Network and Try Again
-
2 problems, thought it more sensible to do them in i thread.
I gave Sidesync a go the other day & I dear it, autonomously from the fact it refuses to work via wifi which seems to me to exist particularly stupid.
Is anyone else having this consequence?
Also, since moving apps to the SD bill of fare, they forget all their settings & so every time I reboot the phone, they go through all the setup again & also turn their stupid notifications back on which I detest. Is this a known event? One time I put them back on the device, they work perfectly once again.
Thanks for whatever ideas. Have a dandy weekend
Oh yeah, this is on Windows 7 premium (or the one above dwelling basic) + Kitkat 4.4.2.

SideSync - I utilise it several times a week and have merely ever used information technology over wifi. Have never had any problem with it at all.
Apps on SD Carte - the only matter I have seen is the Notification Off get set back to On after rebooting. I practice not accept to get through any setup again and I have never had any game data reset or seen whatever other issue.

No, I run into the request immediately on my phone. I start SideSync on the device & then on the laptop. It says on the laptop locating devices & the note shows upward in the list underneath, however, the decorated circle matter keeps rotating every bit if it is withal looking for another device. If I double click the Note 3 entry, the telephone screen goes off & the prototype I posted above appears. They are definitely on the same network as I can use the mouse & keyboard on the laptop if I choose that option from the desktop software driblet down menu but it still wont display the phone screen.
I love using whatsapp & stuff on the laptop. I'll try removing all samsung kies three, usb drivers & all other software & the reinstall SideSync. I don't really like Kies 3 anyway.
Thank you for your replies btw.
Working flawlessly via USB iii.0

Ok. Hope a reinstall solves it for yous. I think information technology'southward a great app and keep encouraging people to apply it just it seems few people accept even tried information technology.
I was surprised at how good it works over wifi. All the other apps I use over wifi to connect to my computer are slower and lag but I tin can even play games fullscreen using this without lag. That's non unremarkably what I utilise information technology for only I tested it simply because I was and so impressed with the speed.
You lot probably already know this if you've been using it, simply you can go into the settings on the telephone app and increase the arrow speed and set shortcuts. And then in the PC settings, in one case you hopefully get it continued via wifi, you can prepare information technology to connect automatically if you lot desire and likewise a few other settings.

Only an update.
Still won't work via WiFi afterwards removing KIES3 & Samung'due south USB3 drivers then reinstalling SideSync. Reading comments on the Play Store indicates this is a common issue then hopefully they'll fix it in an update former.

I've got the identical trouble as the OP with my Note 3 and Samsung laptop running Win eight.one. Turning off Windows Firewall didn't gear up it for me but produced a different result -- instead of getting error code 101 as in the screenshot above, the PC app just keeps displaying "connecting" with the spinning wheel merely never actually connects or times out. The Firewall was already configured to allow SideSync to bypass the firewall while on individual networks, and if I go out it turned on I go the fault lawmaking 101.
Too, this problem only arises with regard to screen sharing. If I get into settings and alter the default fashion to mouse/keyboard sharing, that works flawlessly.

I'm besides having a like effect when trying to connect my Samsung ATIV Volume 8 with my Milky way S5.
I'm able to connect via USB and tin can see the screen where I can select either keyboard/mouse sharing or phone screen sharing. Even so when I try to select either option I become the 'connexion failed....' fault bulletin.
When I attempt to connect via WiFi, the Sidesync PC software lists the phone as available, but when I click on the phone to connect I get the aforementioned error bulletin.
I have re-installed the software on both my PC and my phone, I have ensured I have the latest USB commuter, and have activated USB debugging.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The red ten on the icon merely means you lot're not actively connected to your phone using sidesync. Left clicking on it won't do anything, but right clicking on the icon should bring up a menu.
Mine has e'er worked (with both WiFi and USB) so I don't accept a lot of help for you since you already checked the firewall. Did you also make certain any antivirus wasn't interferring? Did you make sure your estimator meets the minimum requirements? You lot can see them at the bottom of this page: SAMSUNG SideSync
I unremarkably connect via WiFi, which you lot said didn't work for yous either, but when connecting via USB I make sure to utilise a different port than I use for Kies because the programs crave different drivers.
Otherwise, all I tin can say is endeavour uninstalling both Sydesync and Kies, rebooting, and so install Sidesync and whatsoever drivers it wants showtime and see if you can get information technology working. Then install Kies, which can install it's own drivers. You lot may take already tried that. But that'due south all I've got - mainly just posted to allow you know that the ruby-red ten on the icon doesn't hateful in itself that there was a problem with SideSync.

My Win10 PC is wired and the Samsung S7 is wireless, sidesync doesn't piece of work. For info I take 1 LAN broadcast domain for Wireless and wired and they are merely bridged together.
Information technology works fine on USB cable though.

I was able to connect using a USB cable, but could non via WiFi, despite beingness on the same network.
The problem was the firewall. I typed "firewall' into the start button, hit render. 'Aid protect your PC with Windows Firewall' dialog appeared. Clicked the 'Allow an app or characteristic through Windows Firewall' link on the left side, at the top. Scrolled down the list and constitute SideSync 4.0, certain enough it was non checked. Initially could not check the box to enable, very strange. You lot need to first click the Change Settings shielded push button to a higher place the list, then you tin check and enable SideSync 4.0, I turned on both Individual and Public.
Restarted SideSync and it most immediately found the phone.
Always so frustrating when a company does such an first-class job on a product, but simply takes it to 99%. The installer should have automatically made the exception in the firewall. They could at least interview 50 people using SideSync for the first time, every one of them would accept this result. Very few products I use have I ever needed to brand special firewall accommodations for them. If anything the software install should have at least suggested to make a firewall exception. Instead I spent 2 days on 2 unlike computers digging effectually on support sites to notice out it was something stupid like the firewall. Similar handing out cans of soup to people at a picnic, and no one brought a can opener, sort of defeats the purpose, no affair how good or tasty your production is.
